This Privacy Policy explains how AlphaCue Technologies (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the AlphaCue AI Vet mobile application and website (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

a. Information you provide

• Account information: your name, email address, phone number (optional), and a securely hashed password.
• Pet profiles: pet name, species, breed, gender, birth date, weight, dietary habits, and pet photos you upload.
• Health records: vaccination, illness, medication, and vet-visit records, including titles, notes, dates, and any image or PDF attachments you add.
• AI symptom descriptions: the text you enter when asking the AI Vet Assistant about your pet’s symptoms.
• Community content: questions, answers, upvotes, and reports you submit. Community posts are visible to other users.
• Consultations: the subject, description, messages, and images you exchange with veterinarians during a paid consultation.
• Payment information: when you subscribe to Premium or pay for a consultation, payment is processed by our payment providers (Stripe and bKash). We do not store your full card or financial-account details; we retain limited records such as a Stripe customer/subscription identifier or a bKash transaction reference.

b. Device permissions

The mobile app requests access to your camera and photo library only when you choose to add a pet photo, a health-record attachment, or an image in a consultation. Access is used solely to attach the image you select.

c. Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data: such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and interactions with the Service.
• Cookies and similar technologies (web): session cookies to keep you signed in, and analytics/advertising identifiers as described below.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and provide the Service.
• To store and display your pets and their health records.
• To generate AI-assisted guidance based on the symptoms you describe.
• To operate the community, consultations, subscriptions, and payments.
• To send transactional emails (e.g. welcome, password reset, account notices).
• To protect the Service against fraud, spam, and abuse (including reCAPTCHA and rate limiting).
• To analyse and improve the Service.
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. AI Processing

When you use the AI Vet Assistant, the symptoms you enter and limited, relevant pet context (such as species, breed, age, and weight) are sent to Google’s Gemini API to generate a response. Do not include sensitive personal information in symptom descriptions. AI responses are for general informational purposes only and are not a substitute for professional veterinary diagnosis or treatment. To reduce cost and improve speed, anonymised, de-identified responses may be cached and reused for similar queries.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

• Service providers:
  • Google (Gemini AI for symptom guidance; Google Analytics for usage analytics; Google AdSense for ads on the free tier; reCAPTCHA for spam protection).
  • Stripe and bKash for payment processing.
  • Our email/hosting providers for delivering the Service.
• Veterinarians: when you start a consultation, the vet assigned to it can see the consultation details, your messages and images, and (if you attach a pet) that pet’s profile and health records, in order to advise you.
• Other users: content you post in the community is public.
• Legal and safety: when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

5. Advertising

Free-tier users may see advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies/identifiers to serve ads based on your visits. You can learn about and control ad personalisation through Google’s Ads settings. Premium subscribers do not see ads.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data as described in our Account & Data Deletion policy, except where we must retain certain records (for example, transaction records for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes).

7. Your Rights and Choices

• Access, update, or correct your profile and pet information at any time in the app.
• Request a copy of your personal data, or request its deletion.
• Delete your account and associated data — see Account & Data Deletion.
• Opt out of non-essential cookies and ad personalisation via your device or Google settings.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including by the service providers listed above. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by email.
